After previous studies Venturi enrolled at Florence’s Accademia di Belle Arti and graduated in 2006 from its painting department. He uses mixed techniques and collage for his painting work. In 2010 he made his first installation entitled Babele with iron, wood and mechanical, electrical and electronic parts and presented it at Private Flat # 6 – Florence. In 2011 and 2012 he made other partially moving work. He lives and works in Florence in Via del Podestà 155.
Vinicio Venturi took part in the 4th Monsummano Terme (PT) International Engraving Biennial in 2005 and won first prize with a large linocut entitled Ultima cena. The purpose of the prize organised by Monsummano town council is to assess the evolution of national and international level art graphics in the contemporary world, noting the results obtained by the various academies and individuals. Every edition involves widespread participation from students who produce interesting, well executed, accurate, aesthetically sophisticated work but despite the large production there are always special elements which enable the commission to select a winner and six selected artists, without controversy or dispute. The commission's task is to compare the various works, stimulating the curiosity of the young students and encouraging them to push their limits and put their certainties to the test. In 2005 Vinicio Venturi won first prize precisely because his professionalism and honesty convinced the commission and the choice of a large work showed special commitment. The technique used was highly versatile and enabled a great variety of signs to be used which were distributed with great harmony and equilibrium accentuating the sense of drama of this Ultima Cena, traceable to the religious Last Supper theme but also to any secular event. A non-existent vanishing point, bird’s eye view, two dimensional figures, details of the characters, above all their faces highlighted despite their disordered and casual distribution. His lines compose into an indefinite space free of time connotations making for a tragic and pitiful scene.
